Larry Jordan: We do podcasting. Why would we be interested in your stuff?

Eric Larsen: What we've got is one that allows people to move to a performance aspect they didn't have before. A lot of interfaces are there, you plug the microphone in and you get really good audio and you're done. We have one that has real-time hardware compression NEQ, real-time reverb where you can select the reverb type and then add as much you want to with the real-time mix, and we've got hot buttons that allow you to trigger sound effects or bumpers or add spots in real time. So it's kind of like taking a microcosm of the old Morning Zoo studio and bringing that to the desktop. For people who don't want to have to post edit and they want to be able to perform. we've got a device like that.

LJ: That's very cool. Let's shift gears now and talk about the new stuff. What's coming in at the show?

EL: We've got a couple different things. We have a firmware update for one of our DSLR recorders. It happens to be our top of the line model, which is our DR 701D. It's just a firmware update that came out just around New Year's and this one now supports AMBEO format A and B.

The Ambisonics format has been allowing people, for some years now, to record not quite surround system audio, but it really is a spherical audio that's a representation of the sound and how it exists in the room.
