Larry Jordan: But this hour, we've got some great people to talk to and we're starting with Eric Weaver. He's the Global Director of Media and Entertainment, Strategy, and Market Development for Western Digital. Eric, you need a shorter title. Welcome.

Erik Weaver: I absolutely do. Thank you for having me.

Larry Jordan: I want to talk about Western Digital, but what does a global director of M&E, Strategy, and Market Development do from day to day?

Erik Weaver: So what I do is I'm looking at the bigger and broader trends as well as helping guide the internal organizationÔøΩ what are we looking at addressing from a messaging and strategy standpoint, how is the technology evolving to address some of those issues, what partnerships are we working on and creating better relationships with and investing into across the globe in the ecosystem.

Larry Jordan: Well, all of us are trusting our professional lives to storage and whenever you say storage, you're talking Western Digital but Western Digital has changed over the last two years. Tell me about what's been going on.

Erik Weaver: So Western Digital has actually acquired several companies over the last several years, including SanDisk and HGST, the original hard drive patents from IBM. G-Tech's been around and we've had them in the fold about six years I think-ish, but still get on and talk about that. But we've been growing, absolutely growing. So now we're creating a complete portfolio, from end-to-end to be able to deal with all the different storage needs.
