How to receive timeline transcript markers in DaVinci Resolve

1. Import/upload your video

Go to A.I. transcription site, Simon Says, and upload your video file to a new project. Select the original language of your video dialogue and click Transcribe. (Note: you need to upload a video, not audio, to receive timeline markers in Resolve.)

2. Export EDL via the export selction Other/DaVinci Resolve

Once your video transcribes, click the Export button (top right on the transcript page on the website). Select "Other" and choose the option "DaVinci Resolve". Then export and a zip file will download. Unzip it and your EDL file will appear.

3. Import the timeline to Resolve

Open Blacmagic DaVinci Resolve with the media you transcribed. Then go to the File menu and click Import Timeline. Next choose "Import AAF, EDL, XML" and then navigate to the location of your EDL file which you downloaded from Simon Says in the previous step.

4. Add transcript markers to your timeline

You will see another box with options for setting up your timeline. Once you okay and the timeline is in your bin, right click that timeline and select "Timelines / Import / Timeline Markers from EDL". For the second time, go to the location of the EDL and import it again. TaDa! Check out the timeline/sequence and see the transcript markers on it!
